Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today we celebrate the presentation of Jesus in the Temple and the purification of his mother, Mary, 40 days after his birth. Presentation is a proclamation of Christ as the light who came into this world to dispel sin and darkness. It is in this light that we are called to always walk in. This reminds us of the light we received at our presentation in church for our baptism. May we always carry this light of Christ as a symbol of hope, prosperity, and protection. Let us also share this light with others, so that together we can shine in our words and actions.
Almighty and ever-living God, clothed in majesty, whose beloved Son was this day presented in the Temple, in substance of our flesh: grant that we may be presented to you with pure and clean hearts.
