Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
Heating update: The Heating Working Party, which was working under the Building Committee, has been exploring various options available for a heating system that can be installed at St. Augustine’s Church. They have obtained quotes and information from different companies about both gas and electrical systems. Their thinking has also been informed by the Church of England’s recommendations about reaching Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2030. The Church of England’s recommendation is to move from the use of fossil fuels and to consider renewable energy. The Diocesan Net Zero Officer has provided information which led to a successful application for a £5,000 grant which will go towards the cost of installation of the new system. The PCC will hold an extra-ordinary meeting today to consider the recommendations from the Building Committee so that the next stage of the work can begin. We thank the Building Committee, Heating Working Party and all who have worked very hard in this difficult process and pray that God will continue to guide us as we seek to make the church a warm welcoming place.
