Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In today’s Gospel (Luke 5:1-11) we hear how Simon Peter struggled to catch fish all night, and in his struggle, Jesus asked him to try again. Although he was unsure, he was willing to follow Jesus’ instructions. Sometimes it feels like we have exhausted all options with no success. At such times, we just want to walk away from any further attempts. Despite a long night of unsuccessful fishing, Peter trusted Jesus and went back to the deep waters to try again. We too have things that we have tried to do but were unsuccessful and are now unwilling to try again. Let us consider how this passage may speak into our situations.
