Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We mark the beginning of Lent with the knowledge that the season introduces us into a new journey of life and faith with Christ. It comes in spring when the earth is renewed as the new life emerges out of death. We move from dark and cold winter months to see days getting warmer, brighter and longer. So, we enter this new season with renewed hope, as we take to heart the call to repentance and the assurance of forgiveness. This then allow us align our lives within the story of God’s redemption as we identify with Jesus' pain, suffering and crucifixion. Let us pray that the observance of this Lenten season helps us grow in faith and in devotion to our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Holy God, our lives are laid open before you: rescue us from the chaos of sin and through the death of your Son bring us healing and make us whole.
