Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today as we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of Christ, we give thanks for the Holy Baptism and come together to renew our individual baptismal vows. We also use this special event in the life of Jesus to mark the beginning of the Diocesan Year of Spiritual Renewal and Wellbeing. This day is special because it was at Christ’s Baptism that his identity as the Son of God was confirmed, and his Baptism became central to our faith as it forms the basis for the Christian rite of baptism. So, let us come together in prayer and fellowship to renew our commitment to the faith and continual support for one another. Eternal Father, who at the baptism of Jesus revealed him to be your Son, anointing him with the Holy Spirit: grant to us, who are born again by water and the Spirit, that we may be faithful to our calling as your adopted children.
