The Vicar's Letter - 14/01/2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

A lot of unsettling things do happen to us all the time, and certainly 2023 was unsettling in many ways. As I reflect on this year and what we intend to accomplish I am asking myself “can anything good come out of Limbury and Biscot.” Perhaps this is a question we need to ask ourselves as we plan our missional events and activities for this year. On this second Sunday after Epiphany, we hear from the Gospel of John the conversation between Nathanael and Philip. Nathaniel asks him “Can anything good come out of Nazareth? This is a question that requires Philip to think deeply and come up with something good that can attract people to Nazareth and something that can be revealed to the world. As a parish we are called to discover something good in our two churches that we would like to invite our local community to ‘come and see.’ This good thing would be something that we will be happy to reveal to the world. Let us therefore encourage and support one another as we work together to build God’s Kingdom in Limbury and Biscot.
