The Vicar's Letter - 31/03/2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you all for your support and encouragement throughout the season of lent. Events and activities that have guided us throughout the season have been truly empowering. As we finally celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let us look again at the new life and hope we find in the risen Christ. And, as we join him in the resurrected life, let us leave behind our old habits that have held us back. We are not held back because Easter is a celebration of the triumph of life over death. The gospel tells us “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance” (John 20:1). Resurrection is therefore something we can experience in our daily lives when stumbling blocks are removed from our path. A clear path can change our attitude to life and enable us to adopt new ways which can elevate us to a place of joy and fulfilment. This is also relevant to the life of the church when new things that shape the mission of the church are introduced. In the coming weeks we will be introducing Young Growers Club, Messy Church, and Family and Parade Service as our church's new life in the coming season.

May the spirit and light of Easter bless us all, watch over us and protect us on our journey. Amen.

Rev’d Jairo Nyaongo
